Followme is a place to share ideas, strategies and insights respectfully and responsibly. These Guidelines apply to all content and behavior on the Service.
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Followme Technology Sdn. Bhd. (“FM”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit or use any website, mobile application, API, widget or other service we operate (collectively, the “Service”). It also describes your data-subject rights and how to exercise them.
1. Types of Information We Collect
  • Information that are required to use the Service (contract necessity / legal obligation)
    • Account data: nickname, email, mobile number, password, profile image.
    • Identity verification (KYC): government ID, passport or licence permitted by law; date of birth; address; liveness/selfie checks.
    • Payments: bank or card details and billing information when you purchase memberships or other paid features.
    • Communications: messages you send to Followme or to other users through the Service.
  • Optional information (with consent)
    • Profile details: name, gender, preferred language, city, date of birth, short bio, and other fields you choose to share (some appear on your public profile).
    • Trading risk controls: strategies or preferences you choose to store in your account.
    • Forms & content: information provided in forms, surveys, promotions, forum posts, uploads, or other features.
  • Payment-service specifics (contract necessity / legal obligation)
    • Where a payment data controller operates, it may collect: payment instrument details, KYC information (as above), contact data and any other information required under AML/CFT laws to provide payment services.
  • Information collected automatically
    • Geolocation: precise or approximate location via device GPS or IP (you can control this in device settings).
    • Usage data: pages and content viewed, searches, features used, and interactions.
    • Log & device data: IP address, timestamps, referrers, device identifiers, OS and browser details, crash/error logs, and links followed to or from third-party apps.
    • Microphone/Camera (consent): voice or image content when you use voice messages, voice search, or uploads (you can disable permissions at any time).
  • Information from third parties:
    • Social logins / connected services: if you link accounts (e.g., Google/Facebook), we receive registration/profile data as permitted by your settings.
    • Linked broker or trading accounts: when you bind a third-party trading account, you authorise us to access read-only data such as broker name, account alias, and transaction data.
    • Analytics tools: we use third-party analytics to collect clickstream and session metrics.
    • Verification & risk: demographic data, sanctions/fraud strategies, and background-check outputs from verification providers (with consent where required).
2. Legal Bases & Purposes
  • We process your data under one or more of the following legal bases:
    • Consent – e.g., optional marketing emails and cookies.
    • Contract – to provide core Service features you request.
    • Legitimate Interest – fraud prevention, network security, product analytics.
    • Legal Obligation – anti-money-laundering (“AML”) and know-your-customer (“KYC”) laws and other regulatory laws (where applicable).
3. Cookies & Technologies
  • We use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and local storage (“Cookies”) to operate and improve the Service.
    • Essential: sign-in, security, fraud prevention.
    • Analytics: usage measurement and performance.
    • Advertising: personalised or contextual ads and campaign measurement.
    • Social: sharing and social-login enablement.
  • Your choices: our Cookie Preference Centre lets you grant or withdraw consent by category at any time. You can also adjust browser settings to block or delete Cookies. We honour applicable Global Privacy Control (GPC) strategies for opt-out preferences where supported. Note: blocking essential cookies may impair the Service.
4. How We Use Information

    • Maintain security, conduct troubleshooting, analytics, research, and product optimisation.
    • Provide customer support; send service messages, security alerts, and account notifications. 
  • Safety, trust, and compliance
    • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents.
    • Identity verification and risk assessments; sanctions screening.
    • Enforce Terms, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Marketing and promotions (optional)
    • Send offers, product updates, surveys, referral programmes, or event invitations tailored to your preferences.
    • Manage contests and promotions; measure and improve campaigns.
  • Payment data controller uses
    • Provide payment services, detect and prevent fraud, meet AML/CFT requirements, and enforce payment terms.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
  • With your consent
    • We share information when you authorise it (e.g., connecting a third-party app, joining a co-branded promotion).
  • With other users and the public
    • Certain profile elements and content you choose to make publish on the Followme platform (e.g., posts, comments, public profile fields) may be visible to anyone, on or off Followme (including via search engines and partner embeds).
  • Service providers (processors)
    • We engage vetted providers (inside and outside the EEA) for identity verification, analytics, cloud hosting, customer support, payments, and related services. They are bound by contracts to protect data and process it only per our instructions.
  • Legal, safety, and enforcement
    • We may disclose data to courts, law-enforcement, regulators, or authorised third parties to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, protect rights, safety, property, prevent harm, or address security incidents. Where permitted, we notify users unless prohibited or impractical (e.g., sealed orders, emergency risk).
  • Taxes and registrations
    • In jurisdictions where collection/remittance of occupancy or other taxes is required, we may share transaction data with tax authorities. Where local registrations or permits are required, we may share necessary provider information with government agencies.
  • Social media audiences
    • We may hash limited identifiers (e.g., email) to create or exclude audiences on social platforms for Followme campaigns. You can opt out of direct marketing at any time.
  • Business transfers
    • If Followme undergoes a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or insolvency event, personal data may transfer as part of the transaction, subject to this Policy. We will provide notice where required.
6. Communications Safeguarding
  • To maintain safety and integrity, we may automatically or manually review communications for spam, fraud, abuse, and support—not for selling to third parties or sending third-party ads.
7. Third-Party Links
  • The Service may link to third-party sites or offer integrations operated by others. Their processing is governed by their policies. Please review those policies before interacting.
8. Your Rights
  • Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
    • Access your data and port it in a machine-readable format.
    • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
    • Delete data and close your account (subject to legal/AML retention).
    • Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
    • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
    • Complain to a supervisory authority.

9. Data Retention
  • We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. AML/KYC records are typically retained for up to 7 years after account closure or as required by law.To delete your account or request erasure, email [email protected] or use in-app options. We may keep limited records (e.g., security logs, fraud prevention) as permitted by law. Public content you shared may remain visible without attribution; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited time.
10. International Transfers
  • Primary hosting is in Singapore. Where data is transferred outside your country or the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and implement technical/organisational measures to protect your data.
11. Security
  • We apply ISO-aligned controls, encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, periodic penetration testing, and a coordinated vulnerability disclosure programme ([email protected]). If you suspect account compromise, contact us immediately.
12. Children
  • Followme is for users 18+ only. Under-age accounts are prohibited and will be removed upon discovery.
